Beginner's Luck? Nah.
I hate talking infront of a large crowd. I hate it. I hate it. I just don't like the feeling of people times two looking at you. I don't like that kind of attention. I prefer to be behind the scene rather than being on the spot light.
And so it was a nightmare when I was volunteered by someone to do the Second Reading for the Holy Mass. This was not an ordinary mass, it was the anniversary of the Chapel's construction. It was not a joke. For sure a lot of student, staff, faculty, and guest will be there not to mention a bunch of purple doves. Even Tita Vicky, yes Vicky Belo was present but Hayden was not there. haha...;-P
I was so nervous that I might not read the Bible verses correctly. I often buckle when I talk, jumble words, and pronounce 'f' with 'p' though I don't have speech problems. All the what ifs were present. But it was too late to back out. It's either I do it or i lose my job. oh well that's an exaggeration. hehe...
So here are the comments I received the day after...
"You read well yesterday Khat." - SGB
"You were good yesterday for the 2nd reading." - SSJ
"Nice one! Para ka lang politician." -SAMCF
I was surprised by their reactions considering that the first two people mentioned above were the head of the College. I was not really expecting. But I love most the last. It was from my beloved and ever supportive friend and biz partner. :-)
I am pretty sure that it wasn't me. It was God working His miracles in me.
